Many professionals need to take continuing education classes. Unfortunately, they are busy and just don’t have the time required to commute to a college or university campus to attend classes. That’s where Advance CPE comes in. The founders of Advance CPE wanted to create a unique eLearning platform for continuing education classes to better meet the needs of professionals.
To ensure that credits were gained by these continuing education students, Advance CPE needed to include some enhanced features in their eLearning platform. They needed to not only monitor student attendance but also needed to verify the attendance of these classes. Additionally, they required many traditional e-learning platform requirements, like multiple teachers and students user registrations, live and pre-recorded video support, revenue management, and student record management.
Before coming to Idea Maker these features seemed to be hard to accomplish. Advance CPE was unsure that they’d be able to make their goals a reality.
Idea Maker, an Orange County custom software development agency, stepped in when Advance CPE needed help, and using our years of experience and knowledge, we suggested the development of a white-label Software-as-a-Service eLearning platform. The SaaS eLearning platform would be developed by our team of in-house developers to meet their unique needs.
The SaaS eLearning platform developed by Idea Maker was not only able to monitor and verify student attendance but it also was able to manage multiple instructors and students, support video (both live and pre-recorded), and monitor revenue.
The eLearning platform we developed went above and beyond their initial hopes and also included several platform enhancing features. The eLearning platform did everything requested and also allowed instructors to brand their classes and offer unique educational events to students.
With their problems solved, the founders of Advance CPE could relax and focus on enhancing the educational experience of their students.
What We Did
Advance CPE needed to be able to easily and quickly accept payments from their students. To facilitate this request Idea Maker enabled payment processing for the e-learning platform using Stripe.
A feature that was important to Advance CPE and their eLearning platform was video hosting. Idea Maker enabled them with the ability to host and stream videos by using JWPlayer.
As part of their e-learning platform’s unique features, they needed to be able to verify student attendance. Idea Maker helped them do this by creating a customized video player that could capture students for both the purposes of attendance and question answering. This helped to prevent tampering and satisfy governing body requirements.
To help instructors at Advance CPE maintain their personal brand, Idea Maker created an instructor portal on the eLearning platform. The instructor portal has customizable fonts, colors, logos, and background images.
To help Advance CPE better manage its students on their eLearning platform, Idea Maker created student portals. We also created a management system to suit their needs that included the automatic circulation of certificates at the satisfactory completion of classes.
