When our clients got tired of trying to make their contracting business efficient and organized by utilizing the apps and programs already on the market, they realized that a custom software development project would be their best option.
While several different apps did part of what they wanted, none of them hit all the points they were looking for. Idea Maker entered the design picture, and between the client and our talented design team, we began working on a solution.
A Custom Software Development Problem
When running a business of contractors or freelancers, there are many moving parts to keep track of. Most software programs can handle most of the business’s needs. Still, until Idea Maker entered the Software as a Service game in the industry, there wasn’t anything that met contractors’ needs comprehensively and in one place.
Some apps took care of scheduling. Others handled compliance and regulations. Still, others took care of billing and taxes. Integrating them was complex and sometimes seemed utterly impossible for even tech-savvy contractor teams. Our client needed to create something that would combine all of these factors without losing function or ease of use. ListYNG was born of a desire to help organize their business and help others also succeed.
What We Did
Scheduling and Appointment Confirmation
Coordinating schedules with clients can be a stressful part of being a skilled contractor. One of the complications of the previously available apps was that a contractor wasn’t able to easily coordinate the schedules of their clients with the schedules of their employees or vendors. By creating an option for clients to book appointments within your available schedule, you cut out the booking process’s middle man portion.
Automating the appointment confirmation task takes another step out of the communication list, allowing the client to be reassured of the appointment and the contractor can focus on their job.
The ability to invoice, process payments, track revenue and provide contractors reports as necessary. However, none of the previously available programs allowed for contractors’ versatility to efficiently run their business’s financial side.
Idea Maker created a fully integrated financial arm of the app. The newly developed app made tracking payments, quotes, and other financial aspects of a contractor’s business simple and easy to understand.
Confirmation Signatures on Forms
Some contracts require legal confirmation from the client and the active contractor. Further, other clients, such as property management companies, require signatures on the work forms for their billing accounting. Idea Maker created a highly efficient confirmation signature process built-in.
It’s one thing to add your name and contractor number to a ton of databases to drum up business. But, it’s just not the most efficient way to get your information in front of potential customers. Adding a way to connect the database in ListYNG with the other popular databases in everyday use made this app more cohesive and simple to use.
In some states, California, for example, have particular and sometimes confusing regulations around independent contractors and self-employed individuals. Having the rules and resources available at our fingertips in this app was part of the client’s vision for the final app.
The SaaS platform was also set up to create reports for the independent contractors and the owners of ListYNG themselves. Users of the website are able to view in-depth financial and productivity reports about appointments booked and payments processed. This helped them to better manage their businesses.
